Jan 21, 2025. Sometimes when an urge hits me and it feels right, I just go into it Full bore. Unintentional and unrelated to the new year I feel like certain changes have been needed to keep my life more appropriately balanced and in better working order. The first thing I have implemented is a change in the way I gather my information. After all, information gathering is an important step that in the end leads to how you make up your mind on something or stand on an issue. Step one -Eliminate your intake of bad information. Nowadays we like to call it fake news. You might say that you can't and maybe you can't entirely but everyone can do better because I know I can. Social media is dreadfully full of misinformation and anyone choosing to participate should be aware. These sites will gather your browsing habits and study how you use the internet in order to put stuff in front of you "That You want to see". And that could be politics or something you have been in consideration of buying. In both cases you have given permission for the site to do this in order to use it. The little things we don't read or care about when we want to share with loved ones or advertise our business. An algorithm feeds you with more of whatever you want. Whatever approach you take, filtering out bad information should not be taken lightly especially if you are bombarded by it constantly as you scroll by and a good deal of it is untrue. In my line of work this is the approach I use. If the information I use is incorrect it could adversely affect public health. A good decision can't be made based on bad data. So drive the bus when it comes to information. choose what you want to see instead of being fed. You will see a lot less garbage. My next installment will be a follow up on choosing credible news sources.
