On President’s Day in all 50 states people gathered in protest to the radical disembowlment of the US government by the Trump administration. I had the fortune of having the day off and I was able to attend to attend the protest at the Maine State Capitol. On a day that featured 40 mph wind gusts in Augusta I was proud to see so many people out there in support of each other and our country. I saw many people who were there for many different reasons and many of them fearful and rightly so. Decisions being made by our executives are unconstitutional and circumvent the process on which our democracy was built. Executive Orders are emergency powers. They are not to be used how they are being used by the current president. It’s a bad precedent We have checks and balances for this and he is trying to eliminate them by firing federal judges. Hey where are all you college kids camping out on campus for Palestine now? What is coming for Palestine now is a lot worse. He is eliminating whole pieces of our government with out any kind of plan. Why didn’t he announce all of these revelations during his campaign? He didn’t say anything about Elon Musk. The bottom line is that people will die from the decisions he makes. He wants to take us backwards. He is arrogant. I don’t understand his appeal and I never will. This is not my America. I love my country and it’s time to fight for it. I am exercising my white privilege to do the right thing. In America we have no kings.

Stand together and stand up for your neighbors
